The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.
Applications at the moment are open and can close on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to meet the following requirements:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a house that has a combined gross domestic earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.
• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined household earnings will not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not post any proof of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for nsfas status the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.
Applicants are reminded to deliver the right Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected of their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are studying or plan to study in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
